I began shooting photos in high school and continued with formal training at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh from 1981-1983. Short stints as a wedding and product photographer convinced me to move on to other careers. In 1996 I recertified as a SCUBA diver and began taking photography seriously for the second time in my life. The underwater world is too wondrous not to share with friends. In the past 10 years I have been a DiveMaster, Dive Boat Captain, Dive Operation owner and Underwater Photographer/Videographer. Recent still works have appeared in print in "Sport Diver Magazine" and "Mote Marine Magazine" and Underwater video segments have aired on PBS. I also donate use of many of my images to worthy causes including "Save the Mantas Organization", "Mote Marine Research", "Save the Manatees Organization", "Marine Mammal Conservancy" and others. -Cary Wien
